Jeanne Ledet

Jeanne "Tyon" Ledet, 92, a native of Cut Off, LA, and longtime resident of Bourg, LA, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023. 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation in her honor on July 20, 2023, at St. Ann Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial to immediately follow in church cemetery. 

Jeanne is survived by her spouse, Jessie Ledet; sister, jenny Savoie; children, Judy Esponge (Phil) and Kenneth Ledet (Miranda Williams); grandchildren, Coy Rivas (Hector), Coby Esponge (Tina), Brandon Esponge (Sarah), and Teisha Esponge (Dedric LeBoeuf); and great-grandchildren, Mallory LeBoeuf and Kaylee Esponge. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Denese Ledet; parents, Eno and Alfacia Allemand; sisters, Irene Charpentier, Vera Callias, Emily Collins, Melda Dufrene, and Rilda Gisclair; and brothers, Jimmy Allemand and Eno Allemand, Jr.

Jeanne was born and raised in Cut Off, then moved to Houma in 1970.She started working as a seamstress for DH Holmes, now known as Dillard's. After working there for over 40 yeaars, she retired at the age of 89. Jeanne was a loving mother and grandmother. Her family is what she considered her greatest accomplishment. Through her faith and boundless love, she was a mother to many. Jeanne will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
