Janet Marie McCoy

Janet Marie McCoy, age 89, passed away at her home on Thursday, November 5, 2026. She was a native and resident of Houma, Louisiana.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Monday, November 9, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Visitation will continue until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., with burial following at St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery.

Janet is survived by her two sons, George W. McCoy Jr. and his wife, Cindy, and Greg McCoy; and daughter-in-law Angela McCoy, Grandchildren: Joe McCoy and his wife, Denise; April Broussard and her husband, Ryan; Marcie McCoy and her companion, Paul; Mikki Lodrigue and her husband, Roc; Jena McCoy; and Ian McCoy, Great-grandchildren: Haydn McCoy, Sarah McCoy, Cassie Lodrigue, Cameron Lodrigue, Trent Lodrigue, Alexis Lodrigue, Madison Lodrigue, Max Morgan, and Cooper Broussard, Great-great-grandchildren: Daniel, Gizelle, Lilah, Evangeline, and John Thomas, and Sisters: Gloria, June, and Eve.

Janet was preceded in death by her loving husband, George McCoy Sr.; her son, Steven McCoy; daughter-in-law Gizelle McCoy; parents, Morris and Alma Ledet; brother, Claude Ledet; and sisters, Sylvia Evans and Dot Porche.

Janet took pride in being a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic minister and loved visiting nursing homes and the homebound. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters and spent many years in the TOPS group.

Janet truly loved and adored her family and took great pride in caring for others.

She will be deeply missed.
