Henry Joseph Rodrigue, Sr., age 88, passed away Thursday September 9, 2021. He was a native and longtime resident of Houma, La.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at East Park Recreation Center, 8533 Park Ave, Houma, LA 70363 on Sunday, September 11, 2022, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Henry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances Falcon Rodrigue; daughter, Stacy Rodrigue; sons, Henry Rodrigue, Jr., Ruffin Rodrigue and wife Wendy; grandchildren, Lea Hammonds, Kecera Rodrigue, Lance Rodrigue, Stetson Rodrigue and wife Natalie, Courtney Crappel and husband Joe, Gage Rodrigue; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Graham, Gemma, Lucas.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Rodrigue and Adele Daigle Rodrigue; sister, Lillie Mae Daigle; brothers, Howard Rodrigue, Russell Rodrigue, Eugene Rodrigue.
Henry was an active member of the Holy Rosary Parish, served on the Pastorial Council, helped in the collections, and ushering of Sunday Mass, and prayed the rosary at 8:00 AM Mass. He organized the Emergency Relief Program, cooked for the homeless for twenty-five years with The H Team, and organized family fun day. Henry was a member of the East Park Fire Recreation and president for several years. He served in the Air Force and was a member of the Sportsman League. Henry retired with Mobile Oil Company and was a certified machinist and certified mechanic. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed cooking, and was a LSU football fan. He bled purple and gold and frequently sang the fight song along with his wife Frances. Every Saturday night during football season you could hear him saying, “Geaux Tigers!”
