Harold Paul LeRay

Harold Paul LeRay 83 years old was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on 5-20-26. He was born in Thibodaux, LA and attended high school at Thibodaux College (E.D. White). He graduated college from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette in Electrical Engineering where he began his career at CLECO and became a board certified Professional Engineer. He moved his family to Houma, LA in 1973. He loved his work, and the people that he worked with. He was the chief engineer and manager of SLECA, he co-founded his own company T&L Electric, he worked for TPCG waterworks as the associate director of the electrical system, and was also a consultant for many years. He held all officer positions in the professional societies of LES, NSPE, and IEEE.

Harold was an exceptional all around athlete in high school and college and was nicknamed "Ace" for that reason. He had a full scholarship for baseball to Nicholls State University and that scholarship continued on to the University of Southwestern Louisiana.

He loved to play golf and we would like to think that he is playing in the most grand tournament in heaven right now. He was an avid football and baseball fan, and his favorite vacation was always at the beach. He enjoyed attending men's Catholic retreats, and of course his frequent get-togethers with his high school mates. He loved his family, friends, and his church St. Bernadette that he was a parishioner of since 1973.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Wilbert H. LeRay and Lucille Boudreaux LeRay, and his sister Sylvia and husband Wilbur Morvant.

Harold is survived by his loving wife and Mount Carmel Academy high school sweetheart, Marlene Mary Barbier of Thibodaux; daughters-Julie LeRay Trussell of Baton Rouge; and Jennifer LeRay of Houma; sons- Jason Andrew LeRay (Laura Prejean) of Houma; Michael Jude LeRay (Julie LeBoeuf) of Houma; and Matthew Joseph LeRay of Houma. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. A sister also survives him: Phyllis LeRay Bilello (Robert) of Thibodaux, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by so many.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday 5-30-26 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma followed by a Funeral Mass with interment in St. Francis II Cemetery in Houma.
