Gregory Paul Breaux

Gregory “Greg” Paul Breaux, 53, passed away on February 7, 2026, in Houma, Louisiana. Born on December 13, 1972, in the same beloved city. Greg spent his life deeply rooted in the community that shaped him and that he helped shape in return.

Respected and loved by many, Greg is survived by his cherished wife, Majella Dion-Breaux; his sons, Axel, Ashur, Marek, and Matthew; and his devoted parents, Clifford “CJ” and Wanda Breaux. He also leaves behind his in-laws, Clyde and Eva “Carolyn” Dion; Meridith and Herbert Short; and Madeline Dion. His nieces Candas, Breana, and Nora; nephews, Seth, Shea, Zander, and Carson will remember him fondly. Greg’s circle of love extended beyond family to include Corey Arceneaux, Randy Melancon and Corey Authement, and most of all his treasured Sigma Nu Fraternity Brothers: Kyle Breaux, Kyle Fields, Timothy Lucas, Edward Thibodaux, Correy Beal, Matt Benoit, Robert Picou, Tim Neal and Chris Fournier.

Greg was a quiet man with a watchful heart, always looking out for those around him. Once you got to know him, he was full of stories and laughter. He had a gift for turning ordinary moments into lasting memories. Whether it was a night on the porch spent listening to his playlist, singing karaoke, watching LSU or the Saints, sharing tales with friends or the weekend filled with warmth and delicious food, Greg created spaces where people felt welcome and at home.

He was an enthusiastic participant in local cook-offs for charitable causes; Greg brought energy and camaraderie wherever he went. His love for Mardi Gras ran deep – he was a proud member of the Krewe of Hercules for almost 30 years.

Greg’s commitment to service was evident in all aspects of life. For eight years, he was a volunteer and a swim coach with the Terrebonne Special Olympics. As a strong advocate alongside his wife for Autism awareness and the Special Needs Community – especially on behalf of their son Ashur – Greg gave voice to causes close to his heart. On Friday nights during football season, he could be found near the concession stand cooking food for the Terrebonne High Crimson Pride Band.

And if you were ever at Rouses on St. Charles Street in Houma – you probably saw Greg there too. It was just one more place where he connected with others through everyday kindness.

The Breaux Family will host a Celebration of Greg’s Life at a later date.
