Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gordon James Voisin, at the age of 79, on August 30, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Houma, Louisiana. Born on September 11, 1946, Gordon lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure, leaving a lasting imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gordon is survived by his wife, Lillian Boudreaux Voisin; children, Allison Foret (Randy), Tyler Voisin (Natasha), Matt Voisin (Amanda), Rick Voisin; grandchildren, Thomas, Rylee, Aubrey, Avery, Harper, Grayson, Bennett, Colin, and Eliza; great grandchildren, Christopher and Joseph; siblings, Deanie Giroir, Eva Duplantis, Mona Leicher, David Voisin, and Kim Voisin.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, Linest and Iona LeBlanc Voisin; siblings, Simon Voisin and Jane Ellen Theriot.

Gordon was a devoted husband to Lillian Voisin for an incredible 47 years. Their love was a beautiful testament to partnership and friendship, and together they created countless cherished memories-whether traveling, embarking on fun-filled cruises, or engaging in spirited card games. Gordon was not just a husband; he was a friend and a confidant, always ready with a comforting word or a thoughtful gesture.

As an avid sportsman, Gordon loved fishing and embraced the great outdoors with enthusiasm. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his creativity and his eloquent use of the English language. He published three books, sharing his insights and stories with others, indicative of a truly brilliant mind. Gordon proudly served in the Army, embodying the values of dedication and service that he carried into his career as a firefighter and psychologist. He was a steady presence in the lives of many as he served his community, bringing both safety and light to those around him.

A longtime parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church and member of the Knights of Columbus, Gordon was deeply rooted in his faith and community. His warmth, intelligence, and humor will be missed dearly by all who were lucky enough to have known him. In celebration of Gordon's remarkable life, a public viewing will be held at Annunziata Catholic Church on September 5, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Gordon are invited to join us in remembering and honoring him. He will be laid to rest at Holy Rosary Cemetery following the mass.

Gordon's legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will continue to inspire us all. Let us gather to share stories and celebrate a life well-lived. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Annunziata or Holy Rosary in memory of Gordon Voisin.
