Gilbert Joseph Naquin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, entered his eternal rest on December 31, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on September 10, 1939, in Houma, Louisiana, Gilbert spent his life in Theriot, where he went on to raise his own family.

He was a devoted father to his children Lori Naquin, Michael Naquin(Jeanette), Dean Naquin (Dawn), and Jamie Naquin (Kami), and took immense joy in the company of his grandchildren: Anthony (Sarah), Drue (Reese), Lillie (Bailey), Brennan, Daphnie, Elise, Brant, and Peyton. Additionally, his five great-grandchildren, and his siblings Julius and Ray Naquin who he shared countless morning meetings with over coffee.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Naquin, as well as his daughter Kathryn Naquin and his siblings: Antoine "AJ" Naquin Jr. and Laura Bourg.

To honor Gilbert's life a Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. till time of the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Eloi Catholic Cemetery in Theriot.

Gilbert had a passion for gardening, often nurturing plants with love and care, much like he tended to his family. He enjoyed leisurely drives around the bayou, always taking in the beauty of his surroundings. A faithful parishioner of St. Eloi, he was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, holding a 3rd degree, and was known for his joy in playing card games, particularly Bourré and poker.
