Franklin Joseph Cedotal, Jr., age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Thibodaux and a resident of Gray.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Bridget Catholic Church on Thursday beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery.
Franklin is survived by his sons, Franklin Joseph Cedotal III and wife Juanita, Paul Cedotal and longtime companion Faith O’Hara, and David Cedotal; daughters, Dena Albert, Lisa Smith, Bernice Folse, and Susan Brush and husband William; sister, Joann Martin; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Franklin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sally Oliver Cedotal; parents, Franklin Joseph Cedotal, Sr. and Agatha Blanchard Cedotal; son, Jesse James Cedotal; sisters, Theresa McKee, Judy Duncan, Mary LeBlanc, Jeanette Landry; brothers, Jimmy, and Johnny Cedotal.
Franklin was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, great and great- great grandfather, family was very important to him. He enjoyed spending time at the camp hunting and fishing, he was truly an avid outdoorsman that was skilled and talented in many ways. He instilled great family values in his children to be carried onto their children. Franklin was a pipefitter in the oilfield industry until his retirement with many years of service. He proudly served our country in the Airforce. Franklin is now reunited with the love of his life Sally and his son Jesse. They all rest in the arms of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
