Obituary

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ferron Michael Ruffin, Sr., affectionately known to friends and family as "Groove" and Mikey. Born on November 7, 1976, in Houma, Louisiana, Ferron lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments until his untimely passing on August 29, 2026.

Ferron is survived by his children, M'Kira Arion Ruffin, M'Kielier Laresse Ruffin, Tej'a Mekia James, Ferron Michael Ruffin, Jr., Ferrahn Mykel Ruffin, Ferhij Myal Lyndell Anthony, Ruffin, Ariyanna Sanaii' Holmes; grandchildren, Milani Monet Ruffin and Tru Kay'Oir A'Khya Ross; beloved mother, Annette Ruffin; siblings, Tanya Ruffin Brown (Elliot), Floyd Ruffin, Jr. wife Jamie, Tina Ruffin, Terrilyn Ruffin, and Furnell Ruffin.

Ferron is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Ruffin, Sr.

A devoted son, father, and grandfather, Ferron's spirit shone brightly in his role as a loving family man. Ferron took immense joy in the company of his two grandkids, who were the light of his life, and he dedicated himself to creating lasting memories with them.

Ferron was not only known for his infectious smile-a million-dollar grin that could light up any room-but also for his impeccable sense of style. As a sharp-dressed man, he knew how to make an impression. His passions extended to the outdoors, where he found solace in fishing and the thrill of riding four-wheelers. A true enthusiast, he relished barbecuing with family and friends, bringing people together with his generous spirit and warmth.

As a commercial driver in the logistics industry, Ferron exemplified dedication and hard work, impacting many lives along the way. His analytical mind and playful sense of humor made him a beloved jokester, leaving those around him in fits of laughter, even during the toughest of times.
Ferron's life, though tragically cut short, was a testament to the love he freely gave to those fortunate enough to know him. He has been reunited with his father and is now resting peacefully in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We invite all who knew and loved Ferron to join us in honoring his memory. A public viewing will be held at Chauvin Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 9:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM, where family and friends may gather to pay their respects. Following the service a burial will take place in Live Oak Cemetery in Gibson.

Ferron's legacy of love and joy will forever remain in our hearts, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
