Ella Guilfou

May 31, 1926 — November 2, 2021

Ella Rita Boudreaux Guilfou, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. She was a native of Belle Rose and a resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. with burial following in Terrebonne Memorial Park.

Ella is survived by her son, Nathan J. (Rhonda) Guilfou; daughter, Natalie G. (Allen J.) Ryan; sister, Mary B. Lovell; daughter-in-law, Ruth Guilfou; brothers-in-law, Irvin J. (Beverly) LeBlanc, and Hugh Cowan; grandchildren, Tate (Suzanne) Ryan, Andre (Brooke) Guilfou, Russell (Mary) Guilfou, Claire G. (Jason) Kern, Jessica (James Sisson) Guilfou, Kenneth Guilfou, Ryan (Sarah) Guilfou, Kevin Guilfou, Derek Guilfou, Katie G. (Joseph) Moore; great-grandchildren, Austin and Taylor Ryan, Noah, Marie, Annie, Elizabeth, and Ella Rose Guilfou, and Caroline Kern.

Ella was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Failman Joseph Guilfou; parents, Samuel Joseph and Edma Elizabeth Boudreaux; son, Norman P. Guilfou; sisters, Wilma B. (Emile) Medine, Mildred "Millie" B. LeBlanc, and Doris B. Cowan; brother-in-law, Archie Lovell.

Ella was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was a founding member of the Bayou Blue Senior Center, St. Louis Altar Society, Past President VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Shell Cajun Alumni Club and Bayou Blue Homemakers Club. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, baking, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be dearly missed by all whose hearts she touched.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at The Suites at Sugar Mill Point, and Haydel Memorial Hospice for all the care, love, kindness, compassion, and amazing skill at dealing with Alzheimer's and end of life comfort. We have had her with us making memories for an additional eleven years because of you.
