Obituary

Edward Arnold Prevost, known as "Arnold," passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 82 in his hometown of Houma, Louisiana. Born on January 2, 1944, Arnold lived a life rich with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He was the beloved husband of Sharon Prevost for an extraordinary 55 years, a partnership built on mutual respect, support, and countless shared adventures.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Sharon Melancon Prevost; children, Shea Prevost Bourgeois and husband Errol, Parker Prevost, Reis Prevost and wife Chrissy; grandchildren, Jaley Prevost, Piper Prevost, Emma Bourgeois, Ellie Bourgeois, Joshua Bourgeois, Jacob Bourgeois, Erica Bourgeois, and Justin (Elizabeth) Bourgeois; great-grandchildren, Abigail Bourgeois, Anthony Bourgeois, Isaiah Bourgeois, and Benjamin Bourgeois.

Arnold is preceded in death by his father, Edward Prevost; mother, Ollie Prevost Hannemann and husband Dutch.

A skilled barber with over 60 years in the industry, Arnold was the proud owner of Arnold's Hairstyling, where he made life long clients and friends.

Arnold found joy at the camp and fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed his weekly Thursday night card games with his buddies. Known as "Captain" or "Cap" among his friends. He was a founding member of the Krewe of Hercules and rode for 30 years celebrating his favorite season of the year, Mardi Gras.

In his younger years, he was a member of the Houma/Terrebonne Jaycees.

Arnold also served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps League Reserves, reflecting his enduring commitment to service and community.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Arnold's remarkable life on Friday, September 18, 2026. A public viewing will be held at Chauvin Funeral Home from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, where all who knew him are invited to pay their respects. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, during which we will share stories and memories, reflecting on the laughter, love, and warmth that Arnold brought into our lives.

In celebrating Arnold's life, we remember the joy he brought into the world, the love he shared with family, and the laughter that defined his days. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be eternally remembered.
