Edward P. Bourg, Jr.

Edward Peter Bourg Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, affectionately known as "Lil Ed" passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, at the age of 77 in Houma, Louisiana. Born on October 8, 1947, Lil Ed was known for his warm spirit, kindness, and his unwavering love for his family.

Lil Ed worked as a pipeline welder, where his strong work ethic and craftsmanship earned him respect among his colleagues. Outside of his professional life, he found immense joy in the great outdoors, enjoying countless hours of hunting and fishing. These passions not only showcased his adventurous spirit but also provided cherished moments with family and friends who will remember him fondly for the stories and laughter shared during those outings.

He is survived by his loving daughter and caregiver, Debbie Bourg (Anthony); his two sons, Dustin Bourg (Lacey) and Carlton Bourg (Stacie); and his brother, Reynold Bourg Sr. (Ella), He is also remembered by his loving sister, Christine Verdin (Morris), and his grandchildren: Terrin Duthu; Jacelyn Williams; Kaydence Bourg, Adalyn Bourg, Callan Bourg, Elyssa Daigle, and Kelsey Sumlin, and 9 great grandchildren all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Edward was preceded in death by his loving wife Lula Mae Bourg, his parents Edward Sr. and Henrietta Bourg, his brother Elton Bourg, and his sister Sandra McCaleb.

A special thank you to the staff at Thibodeaux Wound Care especially, Dr. Ansert, Dr. Finn and staff at CIS, Margaret at Terrebonne Home Care and Alexis with the Medical Team and the staff and nurses at The Oaks of Houma for all of their love and care to Edward during his final months.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 9 AM till time of service. A Funeral Liturgy service will begin at 11 AM at Chauvin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.

In this difficult time, the family asks for your thoughts and prayers as they remember a man whose spirit touched the hearts of so many. Edward will be greatly missed, but his legacy of love and cherished memories will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
