Edgar Schexnayder Jr.

Edgar Antoine Schexnayder, 96, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 4:45pm.  Edgar is a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Houma, LA.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 9:00am until service time. A Liturgy of the Word will follow visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home at 11:00am with burial taking place after services in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Edgar is survived by his loving family; his children, Keith Schexnayder, and Debra Voclain and husband Randy; grandchildren; Keith Schexnayder Jr., Todd Schexnayder, Laura Voclain, and Scott Schexnayder and also survived by five loving great grandchildren. 

Edgar is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Schexnayder Sr. and Alba Waguespack Schexnayder; grandchild, Derick Schexnayder; brothers, Harold Schexnayder, Irving Schexnayder, Norris Schexnayder, and Clifton Schexnayder; and sister, Carole Schexnayder. 

Edgar enjoyed hunting and fishing; and after his retirement he enjoyed going to the casino. 

Edgar was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II during his time with the armed forces.

He will be deeply missed; but forever loved by his family and friends.

The family would like to thank Haydel Memorial Hospice for their love and care given to Edgar and family during their times of need.
