Dorothy "Dot" Dupre

Dorothy “Dot” Falgout Dupre, age 85, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of New Orleans and longtime resident of Chauvin.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Bourg.

Dot is survived by her children, Kristina Meier, Druis Dupre, Jr. (Kathy), Susan Domangue (Whalen), Richard Dupre, Michael Dupre (Della), Anthony Dupre (Thelma), Ronald Dupre (Sandy), and Elizabeth Arceneaux (David); 20 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Sevin.

Dot is preceded in death by her husband, Druis J. Dupre, Sr.; parents, Loney J. Falgout and Elfrey Boudreaux Falgout; sister, Carolyn Marie Falgout; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; son-in-laws, Russell Meier, Timothy Foret.  

Dot was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed baking cakes, playing cards, singing, and dancing. Dot was a member of Chauvin Lions Club, Council on Aging, and a parishioner of St. Joseph. She was also involved with the Lagniappe Fair. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
