With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Dorothy Ann Bergeron, lovingly known as "Dottee." Born in the heart of Houma, Louisiana, on September 22, 1939, she graced our lives for nearly 87 years before departing this world on May 19, 2026. A devoted caretaker, Dottee was the anchor of her family, being a nurturing mother to many and a cherished "Maw Maw Dot" to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation beginning at 9:00 AM till time of the Mass beginning at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Chauvin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Terrebonne Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest.
To cherish Dorothy's memories are her beloved children; Glynn Bergeron (Dodie), Tony Bergeron (Zoe) and Phyllis LeBoeuf (Randy), her grandchildren; Mistie Fonseca (Brian), Jenny Angeron (Noah) and Haylie Bergeron Day (Bryce), Crystal Lottinger (Jordan) and Randy LeBoeuf, Jr., her great-grandchildren; Austin, Stella, Alexis, Hollis, Hayden, Renley, Jaxon, Benjamin, and her grand dog, EQ, her siblings; Lois Phillips (Charles) and Jessie Naquin as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends whom all were blessed to know and love Dottee.
Dorothy is reunited in Heaven with her love of life of over 35 years, Collins Bergeron, Jr., parents, Jeanne and Freddie Naquin, Sr.; siblings; Eugene Naquin and Freddie Nquin Jr., grandchildren; Anthony "TJ" Bergeon and Todd Anthony Bergeron, and her special companion, Alfred Boudreaux.
Dottee was not just a caregiver; she was an angel to those she loved. With a heart as warm as her cooking, she was renowned for her culinary delights and her joyous spirit, quick on her feet, always ready to "cut a rug" at the slightest opportunity. Her laughter echoed through family gatherings.
Her passion for life extended beyond the kitchen. She found joy in fishing in her earlier years and adored her roses. Dottee was the proudest supporter of her sons, cheering for them The Country Cousins and was the #1 fan of Tony 'B'. Each note they played carried her love and encouragement.
In this time of reflection, we'll remember the queen of Mardi Gras at Heritage Manor and the love that flowed as freely as the music she adored. Dorothy Ann Bergeron will forever remain in our hearts, a tapestry woven with kindness, joy, and immeasurable love. May she rest in peace, forever dancing in our memories.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Heritage Manor and Thibodaux Regional Health Systems.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Dorothy's life to St. Jude's Children Foundation.
Chauvin Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the family of Dorothy Bergeron.
