Andre'
Jan 2, 1945 — Oct 31, 2026
Houma
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diana Marie Andre', age 81, on October 31, 2026. Diana was born on January 2, 1945, in Golden Meadow, Louisiana, and a longtime resident of Houma, Louisiana. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, dedicated educator, and a deeply involved member of her church community.
Diana devoted her life to education as a retired Terrebonne Parish School Teacher, inspiring countless students throughout her prominent career in the public school system. Her passion for teaching was only rivaled by her commitment to her faith and community service. As a beloved parishioner of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church, Diana served faithfully as a team member of the RCIA Adult Inquiry, an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Pastoral Council and Catholic Daughters. She also dedicated her time as a teacher in the CCD program, always eager to share her love for the Catholic faith.
She was known to show her love to a person by brining sweets for every occasion. Diana's love for her flower garden provided her with tranquility, and she found joy with her beloved dog, Skippy, who predeceased her. An avid reader, she cherished the moments spent with her book club, sharing insights and forming lasting friendships.
Diana is survived by her devoted children, Susan Plaisance Eschete (Ted), Peter Plaisance, and Tim Plaisance; step-son, Lee Andre' (Elizabeth); step-daughter, Dr. Michelle Andre' LeBlanc (Dan); grandchildren, Elizabeth Eschete (John Louis Elliott), Allen Eschete (JoAnna), Landon Andre', Lauren Andre'; great granddaughters, Anna and Juliet Elliott-Eschete; brother, Phillip Bordelon who will all carry forward the legacy of love, faith, and compassion that defined their beloved Diana's life.
She is preceded in death by her first husband of 31 years, Nathan Paul Plaisance, and second husband of 7.5 years, Gene Michael Andre'; parents, Caffery Pierre Bordelon and Hattie Williams Bordelon; sister, Mamie Beauchamp (Jack); brother, Caffery Paul Bordelon (Clara "Sis"); sister-in-law, Maria Bordelon.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Rosary at St. Bernadette Catholic Church on Friday, November 6, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with visitation to follow until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2. As we gather to honor Diana's life, we invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a remarkable woman whose legacy of kindness, faith, and dedication will forever reside in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.
