Dean A. Saia

Dean Saia, age 59, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 3, 2026. Born on January 6, 1967, Dean was born to the Late Angelo and Marie Saia. He was a native of Lockport and a longtime resident of Houma.

Dean is survived by his daughter, Heather Bychurch (Robert); three grandchildren and one great granddaughter; siblings, Darlene Robichaux and companion Paul, Angela Rock (Keith), Tony Saia (Gayle), Chad Saia (Jodie), Troy Saia (Courtney). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Marie Adams Saia; sister, Lisa Saia; brother-in-law, Gary Robichaux.

Dean Saia, a free spirit with a gift for bringing joy to others, passed away after a life marked by resilience, talent, and heart.

During the 1980s and 1990s, Dean was known as an incredible entertainer and performer. He had a natural ability to light up a room, leaving lasting impressions on everyone who had the pleasure of watching him. His charisma and energy made him unforgettable.

Dean also built a reputation as an exceptional waiter, serving for many years with a level of care and personality that kept people coming back. Guests would often request Dean by name, not just for his service, but for the experience he brought to every table.

Beyond the spotlight and dining room, Dean was a talented cook. He spent a decade working offshore, where his skills in the kitchen provided comfort and enjoyment to those he worked with. Cooking wasn’t just a job—it was another way he connected with people.

Life was not always easy for Dean. He faced many challenges and endured trials that would have slowed others down, yet he continued to push forward with strength and determination. In recent years, he battled health issues that limited his abilities, but his spirit remained.

Today, Dean’s struggles have come to an end. He is finally at peace, reunited with loved ones who passed before him.

Dean will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his perseverance, and the joy he brought into the lives of so many.
