Rembert
January 6, 1949 – May 29, 2026
In Honor and Loving Memory
Specialist Four (SP4) David Frank Rembert
United States Army Veteran
1949 - 2026
With deep love and heavy hearts, the family of Specialist Four David Frank Rembert announces his peaceful passing on May 29, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on January 1, 1949, in Houma, Louisiana, David lived a life shaped by service, resilience, passion, and the quiet strength that defined him.
David enlisted in the United States Army in August 1968 and served honorably throughout the Vietnam Era. He was assigned to the 14th Aviation Company (ASH) under USAREUR, a unit responsible for aviation support and heavy‑lift operations during a critical period in American military history. His dedication earned him the rank of Specialist Four (SP4).
For his service, David received the National Defense Service Medal, along with Sharpshooter Qualification Badges for both the M‑14 and M‑16 rifles - a testament to his discipline, skill, and commitment to excellence. He completed his service with an Honorable Discharge at Fort Dix, New Jersey, on August 12, 1970.
Though he did not serve in direct combat in Vietnam, the era itself left a lasting imprint on him. Like many who served during that time, David carried memories and burdens he rarely spoke about. The weight of those years shaped the man he became long after he hung up his uniform.
Beyond his military service, David was the beloved son of Gerald "Cotton" Rembert and Evelyn Rembert, and a devoted brother to Tyler Rembert and the late Karen Cook. He shared two children with Cheryl Rembert Chauvin: their son, Ryan David Rembert, and their daughter, Danielle Denee' Rembert.
A gifted 5‑star chef, David expressed his creativity and love through cooking. Whether grilling, barbecuing, or preparing a full meal, he found joy in feeding others and watching them enjoy the flavors he created. The kitchen was where he felt most alive - a place where he connected, created, and shared pieces of himself.
Though David faced struggles that created distance at times, two people remained steadfast in his life: his brother Tyler, who not only shared a home with him but cared for him deeply, faithfully, and without hesitation; and his son Ryan, who stood by him with patience, loyalty, and unwavering devotion. And no matter how far life's journey carried him, his daughter Danielle - his "baby girl," as he called her for her entire life - never stopped loving her daddy, holding him in her heart with a love that never wavered.
Together, they provided him with comfort, dignity, and stability during his most difficult years - a quiet testament to the love that surrounded him even in his hardest moments.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Evelyn Rembert; his sister, Karen Cook; and his brother‑in‑law, Jack Cook.
He is survived by his children, Ryan David Rembert and Danielle Denee' Rembert; their mother, Cheryl Rembert Chauvin; his grandchildren - Kaleb Beeson, Evan Beeson, and Ethan Beeson; his step‑grandchildren, Chase Denson and Lexi Denson; his brother, Tyler Rembert; and his niece, Nicole Rembert Soudelier.
David's life was layered - marked by service, hardship, quiet battles, and moments of genuine passion. Those who loved him will remember him in their own ways, holding onto the parts of him that meant the most.
A private service for immediate family will be held to honor his life and career.
