David Hebert

October 25, 1940 — June 12, 2021

David Joseph Hebert, age 80, passed away Saturday June 12, 2021. He was a native and longtime resident of Houma, La.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation Thursday June 17, 2021 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at Chauvin Funeral Home. Service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery #2.

David is survived by his sisters, Brenda Barr, Ophelia Hebert and husband Wally A. Hebert; nieces, Carrie Collins, Patrica Dupre, Shelia Lirette, Shanna Hawkins; nephew, Terry Collins; five great-nieces; six great-nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Magnel L. Hebert and Velma Hebert Boudreaux; stepdad, Dalton J. Boudreaux; first wife, Sandra N. Hebert; second wife, Bertha L. Hebert; brother-in-law, Bobby J. Barr.

He was a parishioner as well as an usher at St. Bernadette Catholic Church and was deeply rooted in his Catholic faith. David was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all. He loved his family with all his heart and enjoyed spending time with them at family events and get-togethers. With his love for music, he could often be heard singing country music as well as songs in French. But by far his favorite pastime was watching Saints and LSU football games. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
