It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Darin James Leedy, who departed this life on January 18, 2026, at the age of 57. Darin was born on April 15, 1968, in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and resided in Schriever, Louisiana, where he dedicated his life to serving others with unwavering commitment and integrity.
Darin's service to his country began with four honorable years in the U.S. Navy, followed by an additional two years in the Reserves. After his military service, he devoted the next 25 years of his life to the Houma Fire Department, rising to the esteemed rank of Captain. His strong, stoic demeanor and dedication to his work earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and the community alike.
Darin was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Lisa, with whom he shared 32 wonderful years of marriage. A loving father, he also cherished time spent with his son Aster, his sidekick who knew him as his Pop Pop. His commitment to his family was evident in every moment he spent nurturing and supporting those he loved.
Darin's passions extended beyond his professional endeavors; he savored downtime spent attending air shows or BBQing with family and friends. He took great pleasure in constructing complex model ships, a hobby that filled his home with his intricate creations. His adventurous spirit also led him on many memorable road trips.
Darin is survived by his loving wife Lisa Leedy; his son Aster James Leedy; his brother Millard "Billy" Leedy; and his aunt Patricia Crochet.
Darin was preceded in death by his devoted parents his devoted Larry Leedy and Beverly Leedy; his grandparents Paul Fonseca Sr. and Mildred Fonseca; his aunt Irene Leedy; his uncle Paul Fonseca Jr.; and his cousin David Velasquez.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation to honor Darin's life on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Chapel Dauphine from 9:00 am. until the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. We invite all who were touched by Darin's life to join us in honoring his memory and celebrating the remarkable man he was.
His legacy of service, hard work, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
