Clyde J. Duplantis, Jr., 93, a native and resident of Houma, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian burial at 12 p.m. at St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church, with burial following in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his son Clyde J. Duplantis III and wife Denise Charpentier Duplantis; daughters Julie Tullier and husband Charles Tullier, Jr., Denise Michel, Angela Breaux and husband Barry C. Breaux, and Mary Picou; grandchildren Jessica Fernandez (Jason), Jeremy Allen (Kristy), Jerry J. Picou, Jr., Amanda Michel-Bourquard (Blake), Dustin Michel, Andrew Michel, Matthew Duplantis (Nick), Fr. Daniel Duplantis, Emily Duplantis Braud (Simon), Dylan Stone, Barry J. Breaux, and Claire Breaux; step granddaughter Lacie B. Simoneaux (Rick); great grandchildren Gage Allen (Madeline); Damon Allen, Taylor Allen, Sadie Bourquard, Scarlett Bourquard, and Jameson Braud; step great granddaughter Caitlyn LeBlanc; great-great grandchild Lucas Allen; his brothers-in-law Mark Naquin, Dwight Naquin (Cheryl), Bert Naquin (Lorraine); and his sisters-in-law Fannie Tomlin (Wayne) and Mercedes Naquin.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Raley Naquin Duplantis; his parents Clyde Joseph Duplantis, Sr. and Ismay Pitre Duplantis; son Daniel James Duplantis; his sisters and brothers-in-law Marion (Dudley) Bourgeois, Janette (Jack) Bridges, and Gary Naquin; his sister-in-law Grace Daigle (Harry); son-in-law Angelo Michel; and his father and mother-in-law Dovie and Nezia Naquin.
Clyde loved watching and participating in sports. He played in the American Legion's baseball league and played as a guard on his high school football team. He also enjoyed cheering on the Tigers at LSU football games, hunting, fishing, and golfing.
Clyde proudly served his country as a U.S. Air Force corporal before becoming a respected member of many local organizations. He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus and an American Legion member.
As a Commentator and Eucharistic Minister, Clyde shared his love of family and the Lord along with his wife, Raley. They were members of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church Parish and supporters of St. Bernadette Elementary School and Vandebilt Catholic High School.
