With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clark Anthony Carlos, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, who departed this life on January 22, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on August 15, 1944, in Houma, Louisiana, Clark was a remarkable man whose spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.
Clark also known as "Pop" is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Malbrough Carlos; son, Ty Carlos (Liz), daughter, Tia Castille (Iggie II); grandchildren, Tyler Carlos, Caitlin Shaw, Catherine Castille, Iggie Castille III, Mackie Castille, Parker Castille; brother, Carl Carlos, Sr. (Judith).
Clark is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Carlos and Hazel Schlaefli; brothers, Charles Carlos and Ricardo Carlos; sisters, Betty Abadie, Ina Bunch, and infant Janice Carlos.
Clark was a dedicated husband to his beloved wife of 60 years, Catherine. Their love was a beautiful testament to partnership, filled with joyous memories and shared dreams. They made a "good team". Together, they built a life rich with laughter, love, and culinary adventures, as Clark had a passion for cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. He was truly a people person, never having met a stranger, and his warm presence could light up any room.
As a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Clark served his country with honor and commitment. His career in property tax management spanned 43 years with RPC/Patterson Services, where he formed lasting relationships with his co-workers, becoming a cherished part of their lives as well. In addition to his professional achievements, Clark was a devoted parishioner at both Annunziata Catholic Church, where he volunteered with the youth group during his children's formative years, and Maria Immacolata Catholic Church, where he found solace in his faith.
Clark was an avid sports fan, always cheering enthusiastically for LSU athletics. His children and grandchildren will fondly remember the countless hours he spent attending their games, fiercely supporting them as both a fan and a role model. His love for his grandchildren-Tyler Carlos, Caitlin Shaw, Catherine Castille, Iggie Castille III, Mackie Castille, Parker Castille-was immeasurable, and they brightened his later years with their laughter and achievements.
Reflecting on his life, we note the deep bond formed after the early loss of his father, which shaped Clark into a compassionate soul who treasured family above all. His special relationship with his father-in-law, O'neil Malbrough, Sr., provided him with lasting guidance and strength throughout his life.
A public viewing will be held at Chauvin Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and will continue at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.
As we gather to honor and remember Clark Anthony Carlos, we will celebrate a life well-lived, a legacy of love, and the indelible impact he had on our hearts. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever live on in our cherished memories.
