Clarence “C.J.” Antoine Authement, Jr., 69, passed away on October 21, 2026. He was a native and resident of Chauvin, LA.

Clarence is survived by his sons, Jeremy Authement (Samantha), Leland Authement (Amanda); daughter, Michele Authement; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Authement.

Clarence is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Ann Carrere Authement; son, Clarence Authement; parents, Clarence Authement, Sr. and Pearly White Constraiche; brothers, Dudley Authement, Myron Authement, Byron Authement, Douglas Authement, Sr.

Clarence lived a life full of hard work and dedication, spending most of his years on the water, shrimping and managing the docks. Throughout his life, Clarence made lasting contributions to his community, including a brief but impactful period volunteering with the Little Caillou and Montegut Fire Departments.

He found joy in the outdoors, whether he was cutting grass or nurturing his beloved vegetable garden. A gifted cook, he delighted in preparing delicious meals for his family, always ensuring that no one left his home hungry. Most importantly, Clarence cherished the time he spent with his family. His love for his grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he was dedicated to creating unforgettable memories with them. 

As we bid farewell to Clarence, we celebrate a life filled with hard work, love, and cherished family moments. His presence will be missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
