With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Clara Marie Parfait, born on January 9, 1945, in Houma, Louisiana. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 81. 

Clara was a longtime parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She spent her days in prayer and was known for her infectious laughter, her cheerful spirit, and her ability to light up any room she entered.

Clara is survived by her son, James Parfait, Jr.; grandchildren, Zachary Parfait, Brittany Parfait, Cassy Parfait, Emalie Parfait, Tiffany Lapeyrouse, Christy Fanguy (Jonathan), Courtney Pennison, and Whitney Moore (Trent), and six great grandchildren.

Clara is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years James Parfait, Sr.; daughters, Anna Marie Parfait, Angelina "Angie" Lapeyrouse, Vickie "Lynnie" Hotard; parents, Henry Pierre, and Lena Francis Pierre; brothers, Junius "June" Pierre, Cleveland "Doo" Pierre, and Harry Pierre, Sr.

Clara was a dedicated homemaker and private sitter for many years. She cherished her bayou community, enjoyed cooking, and tending to her plants. She loved to sew, trips to the casino, and spending time with family and friends.

A public viewing will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. We invite all who knew and loved Clara to gather as we honor her spirit, share memories, and celebrate the love she brought into our lives. Following the Mass, Clara will be laid to rest at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery.
