Claire Hatch

Claire Bergeron Hatch, 85, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 9, 2025 at 6:22am. Claire was a native of Houma, LA and life long resident of Bayou Black, LA.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Christian Assembly of Schriever, LA (1971 West Park Ave, Schriever, LA 70395 on the corner of Waterplant Road in Schriever, LA) from 12:30pm until service time. A Life Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 2:00pm. Burial will take place privately by the family in Bayou Black Cemetery.

Claire is survived by her loving family; daughter, Debbie Hatch Cope and husband Thomas, daughter-in-law Donna DiStefano Hatch; siblings, Juanita "Pie" Lajaunie, Dwight Bergeron and wife Norma, Robin Garnett, Perry Bergeron, and Merry Beth Fleming and husband Jason, grandchildren, Alex Michael Hatch and wife Jessica, Leah Cope Calvaruso, Spencer Hatch and wife Rebecca, Kristen Nicole Hatch, Kevin Thomas Cope; great grandchildren, Evelyn Hatch, Juliet Hatch, Archie Hatch, and one little Hatch on the way. Claire is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and family; who gave much love, care and assistance along our journey.

Claire is preceded in passing by her loving husband; Lynn Walter Hatch; parents, Sterling Bergeron Sr. and Rose Mary Buquet Bergeron; sons, Rory Thomas Hatch and wife Mitzi, Eric Lee Hatch, and her most recent closest pet companion; her dog Sam; siblings, Reba Burnette and husband Donald, Sterling Bergeron Jr., Gene Bergeron Sr. and wife Brenda, Leland Bergeron Sr. and wife Faye, Ronald Bergeron and wife Kate, and Wayne Bergeron.

Claire believed in hard work and she supplied herself and Lynn with vegetable plants and farming wisdom to all their loyal customers, friends, and family. She also enjoyed her year round flower garden that she cared and tended for throughout her life. She believed in traditional family values and loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her many four legged family members (her dogs) more than life itself.

The family would like to thank, Dr. Devin Bourgeois; Mr. Joshua Aucoin and the entire staff at "The Oaks of Houma". Especially, Ms. Sasha Thompson on A-Long Hall and every CNA on A-Long Hall and C-Short Hall who touched Claire Hatch's life with their love, care and compassion. The family is also grateful to Haydel Memorial Hospice and to everyone who visited, called, and prayed. The family would like to give special thanks to Burt Whitfield, who was a very loyal and close friend of the family.

Claire's special love for her "furry four-legged family" will live on with her memory. Instead of flowers, she would have asked that you make a donation to Terrebonne Parish Animal Shelter at 985-873-6709 .
