Christopher Siegrist

Christopher Bremer Siegrist, 74, a resident of Terrebonne Parish, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, in New Orleans.

Visitation will be at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Houma on Saturday, October 30, at 9:30 am with a memorial service to follow at 11 am.

Chris will be sorely missed by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Inghram Siegrist. He is also survived by his sons Brett (Nora) I. Siegrist of Gilbert, Arizona and Todd B. Siegrist of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter C. Christine (Paul Hedrick) Siegrist of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandsons Zachary S. Siegrist and Cole N. Siegrist, both of Gilbert, Arizona; and sisters Joan (Norman) Siegrist Brake of Haines City, Florida; Pat (Margie Hudson) Siegrist of Lakeland, Florida; and Laura (Bart) Siegrist Moodie of Kingwood, Texas, in addition to many other relatives, friends and colleagues.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Gray Siegrist, Jr., mother, Martha Jane Bremer Siegrist, and his sister, Caroline Siegrist Lewis.

Chris was born September 27, 1946, in Noblesville, Indiana. He grew up in a U.S. Air Force family, attending school throughout the United States, Canada, and Japan. He attended Indiana University, graduating in 1968, and subsequently enrolled in Loyola University Law School in New Orleans in 1971. He graduated from Loyola in 1974 and was admitted to the Louisiana Bar later that same year. He then practiced law in Houma and throughout south Louisiana for the next 47 years.

He was a member of the Terrebonne Bar Association, the Louisiana Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Louisiana Association for Justice. He believed the law could help right many issues in society and its people.

Chris was an avid sports enthusiast enjoying cycling, running and workouts. He traveled the world with Bonnie sampling the cultures and cuisines found in each place.
