Charles Campbell Sevin

In loving memory of Charles Campbell Sevin, 57, a cherished son, brother, uncle, devoted friend, and esteemed professional. Charles peacefully passed away on September 16, 2024, at his home in Houma, LA. Born on October 8, 1966, in the same town he called home, Charles was known for his compassionate nature and warm spirit.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation in his honor on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. After services he will be laid to rest with his father at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Vacherie, Louisiana.

Charles is survived by his mother, Edna Marie Campbell Sevin; siblings, Frank J. Sevin II (Debbie) and Marie Elise Cipolla (Rob); nieces and nephews, Matthew Duhe (Amanda), Heidi Bourgeois (Ricky), Frank J. Sevin III (Kaitlin), Ben Schexnayder (Jena), Ross Schexnayder (Bobbi Sue), Guy Schexnayder (Kadie), and Catherine Newcomb (Patrick); and sixteen great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his father, Warren Guy Sevin; maternal grandparents, Charles S. Campbell and Elise A. Campbell Hughey; and paternal grandparents, Frank J. Sevin and Maria Steib Sevin.

Throughout his life, Charles demonstrated a passion for education, as a 1984 graduate of Terrebonne High School receiving the Outstanding Teen Award and American Legion Award, later earning a Bachelor's Degree in French and Political Science from LSU, as well as a Master's Degree in Theology from Loyola University as well as a Master's Degree in Architecture from Yale University. His thirst for knowledge was matched only by his love for travel, having lived and worked in California, New York, Connecticut, and Aix-En-Provence, France, enriching his life with diverse experiences.

Charles found solace in the simple joys of life - from his daily walks to his quiet moments with a good book. An avid gardener, a lover of family gatherings, and a connoisseur of coffee and wine, his presence brought light to those around him.

May Charles' memory be a source of comfort and strength during this time of mourning. Let us remember him for his laughter, his wisdom, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Carmel Academy, 7027 Milne Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
