Charles LeCompte

April 11, 1936 — January 16, 2022

Charles John LeCompte, 85, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 9:55pm.  Charles was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Family and friends of the family are invited to attend a Visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 9:00am until service time. A Liturgy of the Word will begin following visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home at 11:00am with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin, LA.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Leona LeBoeuf LeCompte; children, Wade LeCompte and wife Kathy, Lori LeCompte Christopher, Fran LeCompte, Jeff LeCompte and Paul LeCompte; siblings Barbara “Bobbie” Breaux; grandchildren, Lorie, Nicki, Kelli, Allyson, Ross, Megan, Katie, Jacob, Stephen; seven great grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Ruffin LeCompte and America Pitre LeCompte; siblings, Dorothy, Cyrus, Percy, Helen, Aubrey, Lester, and Chester.

Charles loved to spend time with his family, most especially his  children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.   He loved to work in his garden and he was an avid deer hunter.  He enjoyed working and spending time in the outdoors.  He enjoyed cutting his property with his tractor.

Charles was known for his well developed since of humor.  He had a good heart and would do anything he could to help his family and friends.

Charles will be dearly missed by all who knew him; most especially his family.  He will never be forgotten and always and forever loved.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Manor of Houma Nursing Home for their love and care given to “Paw”  and family.
