Cecil Harry Douglas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this life on September 30, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on September 20, 1945, in Charleston, South Carolina, Cecil lived a life full of joy, laughter, and love. For 33 beautiful years, he shared his life with his devoted spouse, Coleen Blount. Their partnership was filled with shared adventures, heartfelt laughter, and a deep, unwavering love. Cecil was known for his infectious sense of humor and his ability to make everyone feel like family; he never met a stranger. His playful spirit and jovial nature brought light into the lives of all who knew him. Cecil was a dedicated truck driver for many years, tirelessly working in the logistics industry. He also ventured into entrepreneurship, once owning a construction and trucking company. Through hard work and determination, he built a legacy for his family, demonstrating the values of dedication and resilience. Outside of work, Cecil found happiness on the water, where he embraced his passion for fishing, often surrounded by loved ones. He cherished his children and adored his grandchildren, eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first great-granddaughter. Cecil's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he nurtured those relationships with a warmth that will be felt for generations to come.

Cecil is survived by his beloved wife Coleen Blount; children, Thomas Douglas, Dawn Thibodaux and husband James, Fr. Albert Blount; daughter-in-law, Brianna Mussett; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Cameron, Lil Tommy, Blake, Katelynn, James, Gabby, Brady, Hayden, Leah, Dakota, Ariella; 5 great grandchildren and a great granddaughter on the way.

Cecil was preceded in death by parents Cecil Douglas, Sarah Stevens; children, Jahzan Douglas, Cecil Douglas, Sharon Carroll, and Dominic Douglas.

Cecil's life will be celebrated during a public viewing at Chauvin Funeral Home on Saturday, October 11, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM with a reception to follow at Chauvin Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather as we reminisce about his remarkable life, share stories, and honor his legacy. As we say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with his Lord and Savior. Burial will take place at a later date. In celebration of Cecil's life, we invite all who knew him to come and reflect on the wonderful memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed but cherished in our hearts forever.
