Catherine Ann Battaglia Rodrigue

October 14, 1944 — February 24, 2026

Catherine Ann Battaglia Rodrigue, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away on February 24, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on October 14, 1944, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Catherine dedicated her life to her family and her faith.

Catherine was not only committed to her work as a paraprofessional with the Terrebonne Parish School District, but she was also a talented and dedicated beautician. Once she closed Cathy's Beauty Parlor after moving from the east side of Houma to Bayou Blue, she continued making house calls for years to many of her clients which had become close friends. Beyond her professional life, she was deeply involved in her community, contributing her time and talents to various local organizations, including the Catholic Daughters of America and The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.

Her faith played a pivotal role in her life; she was proud of her Catholic upbringing, actively participating in prayer groups and serving as the authentic Italian member at St. Louis Catholic Church. It was that role that brought her immense joy and allowed her to share her heritage for the St. Joseph Altars.

Catherine also enjoyed preparing meals that gathered her family around the table. In her quieter moments, she found solace in playing Sudoku and looked forward to laughter-filled visits with her family and friends. Whether you knew her as Cathy or Miss Catherine, her warmth and kindness will be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her son Kelly Rodrigue; her daughter Kimila Rodrigue Boyapati; her brother Peter Battaglia; her beloved grandchildren, Rose Rodrigue, Zachary Rodrigue, Ethan Boyapati, and Ella Boyapati; and former husband James Rodrigue. Catherine's family was the center of her world, and her love for them was profound and unwavering.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, John Battaglia, Jr. and Josephine Maggio Battaglia; her sister Angelina Battaglia Bourgeois; and her brother John Charles "J.C." Battaglia.

A night visitation will be held within Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Additionally, family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church on Monday, March 2, 2026, beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Catherine will be laid to rest in St. Louis Cemetery immediately following the Mass.

In celebration of her life and legacy, we invite all who knew and loved Catherine to join in honoring her memory. Her spirit will continue to inspire all those she touched throughout her lifetime.
