Carl John Lirette, Sr., age 68, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving children. Carl was a native of Dularge and a longtime resident of Houma.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation in the Magnolia Chapel of Chauvin Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with burial to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Carl is survived by his son, Carl Lirette, Jr. and wife Lisa; daughter, Torie Lirette Marcel and husband Andy; grandchildren, Athena and companion Tanner, Ebony and companion Monte, Tavian, Aviana, Drake and wife Jessica, Austin, Makaila, Gabrielle and husband Justin, and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Keaton, Inara, Emerson, Rowan, and expected baby Harlyn. Carl is also survived by siblings, Pam, Kenneth, Larry, Willie, Jerome, Warren, Donald, and Alex.

Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sherry Lirette; daughter, Shawayna Lirette; parents, Wilvin and Enola DeHart Lirette; brother, Mark.

Carl was a loving man who loved his family dearly. He and Sherry loved and adored their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carl spent many years working as a Structural Fitter until his retirement from Gulf Island. Carl enjoyed fishing and enjoying his time with his family. Anyone who knew Carl, knew he was a jokester and was always provoking Sherry. Carl was young at heart and loved dearly. He was a very skilled craftsman and was always kind and willing to help others. Carl leaves this world behind to be united with his wife who passed twenty days before him. They both are in the presence of their beautiful daughter Shawayna.
