Camille John Adams, Jr. “Big John”

Devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Camille John Adams, Jr.’s life did not come to an end with his death. He transitioned into an eternal life with the Lord.  John passed away on April 30, 2022 at the age of 52 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Cross Church on Coteau Road from 9:00am until Noon with a service to follow.

John is survived by his loving wife, Tammy “Blue” Adams, children: Trey Adams (Heather), Lani Jo Champagne (Justin), Erica Duet (Brady), Nina Naquin (Zane), and Jacob Dupre, mother; Peggy Torbert Adams and father; Camille John Adams, Sr. (Sheila), sisters; Jeannette Burke (Mike), Kathleen Billiot (Jeff), Anna Ballou, and brother Nicholas Ballou, grandchildren: Camille Jo, Laney, Cameron, Cooper, Rorie, Zander and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jeannette Guilliotte Torbert and Thomas Lamar Torbert and paternal grandparents Daisy Bergeron Adams and Ferdinand Lewis Adams.

John was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He enjoyed cooking, karaoking his favorite country music songs, and spending time laughing with and loving his grandchildren, children, and his wife.  John was a member of Cross Church and gained so many new friends on his journey of faith.

The family would like to thank Mary Bird Perkins and Journey Hospice for their compassion and care.
