Bryan Scott Chauvin, age 63, a native of Lafayette and resident of Houma, LA, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026.
Bryan is survived by his children, Cameron Scott Chauvin and fiancé Brittany Corr, Evan Michael Sevin-Chauvin and Katelyn Nicole Chauvin Fletcher (Brandon) and ; his wife, Sheri Murphy Chauvin; his grandchildren, Issac Joseph Fletcher, Lincoln James Fletcher and Hayden Scott Chauvin; his brother, Shane Chauvin; his sister, Dr. Leslie Ber; and his God-children, Dr. Bradley Ber, Lauren Chauvin and Emma Bunn.
Bryan was preceded in passing by his parents, Lawrence Sevin-Chauvin and Sandra Boudreaux Chauvin; his step-daughter, Emily Ellen Ledet; his brother-in-law Dr. Douglas Ber, his God-child, Bryan Dewey Boudreaux.
Bryan Scott Chauvin was known by many names, Crutch, Baby Shamu, Papi, Scotty to name a few. Scotty attended Terrebonne High school then attended Nichols to graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting. He formed Chauvin's Accounting where he worked as a CPA for many years. Scott enjoyed hunting and fishing with some of his closest family and friends. He took pride in his family and their accomplishments but especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling and going to his camp in Grand Isle. His love for LSU sports will never go unnoticed. He raised three children on his own from ages 8, 6, 4 and was celebrated on Mother's Day and Father's Day. He attended all functions for his children and showed up for every event whether it was baseball, dancing, soccer, chess club, track. It didn't matter the event his children were always the #1 priority. Scotty loved tending to his chickens, rabbits, and quail. He enjoyed evenings in his hot tub watching his purple martins fly around. He was able to travel around the world and enjoyed many aspects of life. He will be sorely missed by many especially his children.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering in honor of Bryan on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Chauvin Funeral Home, in Magnolia Chapel from 11:00a.m. until the Memorial Service at 1:00p.m.
