It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Blanche Smith Reynolds on January 26, 2026 at 6:30pm at the age of 95, in her beloved home at Homestead Assisted Living in Houma, Louisiana. Born on July 17, 1930, Blanche lived a remarkable life filled with love, joy, and an unwavering spirit of kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Blanche was a devoted mother to her three girls, Diane Eubanks ( the late Bob Eubanks), Janet Whitney (David Whitney), Gnann Folk (Tim Folk), and a loving grandmother to Chad Eubanks ( Tania), Matthew Whitney, Lia Allen (Ben), Brad Domangue (Heather), and Emma Folk, a beloved great-grandmother to Adeline Eubanks Vicknair (Alex), Cuyler Hendricks, David Whitney, Oliver and Amelia Allen, Macie-Ann Borel, Payton, Erika, Brad Domangue; she is also survived by her great great grandchildren, Xavier, Zayden, and Tinsley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Blanche is preceded in death by her husband, Aubon Reynolds; parents, Bena and Rufus Smith; and seven siblings.
Blanche had an adoration for her family and knew no bounds. Her nurturing heart and genuine compassion touched the lives of many, as she radiated warmth and selflessness. Known for her remarkable green thumb, she found joy in gardening and cultivating beautiful flowers, often welcoming her family and friends into her vibrant sanctuary.
A highly esteemed member of her community, Blanche was voted the most popular girl in high school and graduated as salutatorian. She and her late husband, Aubon, shared a beautiful and an enduring love for 68 years before his passing, and they are now reunited in heaven. Their shared journey included the successful operation of Reynolds Catfish Corner, where they built a legacy that their family will treasure for generations to come.
Blanche was not only a savvy business owner but also a multifaceted individual who dabbled in various artistic pursuits, including taxidermy and cake decorating. Her talents were vast and varied, reflecting her loving and adventurous spirit.
In honor of Blanche's life and legacy, family and friends are invited to attend visitation and service in her honor on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Chauvin Funeral Home with visitation times from 9:00am until service time. Ministry Services will be held following visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 11:00am with internment taking place in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 in Houma, LA.
Blanche Eva Smith Reynolds will be deeply missed by her family and community, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and exemplary character that will never be forgotten.
