Betty Pontiff

Betty Trahan Pontiff, age 84, passed away Saturday May 21, 2022. She was a native and longtime resident of Houma, La.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home Wednesday May 25, 2022 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

Betty is survived by her son, Jan Pontiff and wife Vickie; daughters, Rhonda Dixon and husband Valdon, Nancy McGee and husband Daniel; grandchildren, Kadie Dixon, Joseph Dixon, Melanie Pellegrin, Jed Pontiff, Amy King, Angle Gamberella, Adam Pontiff, Autumn Pontiff, Deann Bergeron, Chelsey LeBoeuf, Ian McGee, Jayme McGee, Kayla McGee; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Trahan; sisters, Alice LeBoeuf, Judy Yawn.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Junies Pontiff; son, Fred Pontiff; brothers, Alvin, Bee, Wilbert, Ray, George and Raymond Trahan; sister, Pearl.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, rock collecting, embroidery, and reading. Betty also enjoyed spending time with her family and neighborhood friends, Trina, Ed, Tammy, Ms. Norma and Mr. Nason, and Ms. Bobby. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
