Barbara Jean Lanier

Barbara Jean Lanier, 76, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 8, 2022. She was a lifetime resident of Montegut, LA.

Services will be held in Barbara’s honor on Monday, September 12, 2022 in Dauphine Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home from 10am until the funeral service at 12pm. Burial to follow at Bisland Cemetery.

Barbara is survived by daughters, Khyma Boyd, Lisa Olson (Daymon), and Kenya Guidry (Jacob); sons, Troy Savoie (Karen) and Randell Lanier (Ann); sister Molly Falgout; grandchildren, Genevieve Savoie, Nathaniel Savoie, Zage Savoie, and Javen Savoie; great-grandchild, Zaylen Savoie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara was proceeded in death by husband, Linus Boyd; her parents, Elias and Lucille Savoie; sisters, Lela Savoie, Vivian Prosperie, Thelma Billiot, Elma Demulder, Marybel Savoie, Rita Prosperie, and Bonniebel Savoie; brothers, Clifton Savoie, Louis Savoie, Aaron “Jimmy” Savoie, and Harold Savoie.

Barbara will be remembered as being one of a kind, “Shoot”. She loved going to bingo and was an avid shopper. She was a pageant director for several years and never met a stranger. When she wasn’t shopping, she loved spending her free time with her children and grandchildren. Barbara will be loved and missed by all who knew and loved her.
