Barbara Jane Evans, 80, of Gibson, LA, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on July 22, 2026. Barbara was born in Berwick, LA, but if you are from there you know it's a 'V' "Bervick" to parents Ignace "Enis" and Alice Ratcliff Ribardi on September 18, 1945.

Family and friends are invited to attend the services for Barbara which will be announced soon.

To cherish Barbara's memories is her loving daughter, Amanda Evans Gros (Glenn), her daughter-in-law, Lynn Evans, her grandchildren; Chantelle Marlbourgh (Travis), Stephanie Gros, Logan Evans (Emily), Gavin Gros, Angel Moore, Mylanna Moore, Danielle Evans and Gabrielle Evans, her great-grandchildren; Katie, Colby, Kelscy and Braden, great-great grandchildren; Kaygen and Brylee, siblings; Harris Ribardi (Lorraine), Faye Harris (C.W.), Enis George Ribardi (Dana) and adopted brother Jared Ribardi and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces and nephews whom she loved more than words to describe.

Barbara is reunited in Heaven with her husband of 42 years Wayne Evans, her sons; Leonard "Lynn" Evans and Steven Evans, with her parents Ignace "Enis" and Alice Ratcliff Ribardi, her in-laws, Lorraine and Kimball Evans, numerous brothers-in-law's, aunts, uncles and cousin.

Barbara dedicated her life to caring for her loved ones. With a heart of gold, she devoted many years as a caregiver to Ms. Alice Adams and Ms. Tommy, as well as to her grandchildren, her husband, and her mother-in-law. Her nurturing spirit and selflessness were felt by all who knew her.

Barbara had a passion for cooking, sewing, and any form of needlework. Her creative flair extended to her keen eye for arts and crafts. She was an avid bargain shopper, often delighted in the treasures she found on Temu or at Dirt-Cheap.

Though she will be dearly missed, we embrace the joy and love Barbara brought into our lives. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family would like to send their gratitude and thanks to ACG Hospice, especially Lacey, Callie and Betty, also would like to thank Fr. Romeo (Billy) Velasco of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and Deacon Jimmy with ACG Hospice for all their loving care given to Barbara and her family during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Barbara's life to the Kidney Foundation, the Leukemia Society or to a special mass at St. Lawrence in memory of Barbara.
