Ashley "Skipp" Carrere, age 45, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026. He was a resident of Dulac, La. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

Skipp is survived by his daughter, Desirae Bonvillian (Patrick); parents, Arnold "Zip" Carrere and Ruth Parfait Carrere; brother, Avery "Scoop" Carrere; daughter's mother, Kami Bergeron; step-grandchild, Channing Bonvillian; god-children, Avery Carrere, Jr., Bentlei Carrere, Jenna Baker; numerous family and friends; and his grand-fur babies, Nala and Harley, whom he loved so much. 

Skipp is preceded in death by his sister, Desiree Carrere; maternal grandparents, Wilton Parfait, Sr. and Josephine Dion Parfait; paternal grandparents, Ira Carrere, Sr. and Anna Portier Carrere.

Skipp enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, often found at the local video poker machines, where he enjoyed testing his luck. In his younger years, he enjoyed basketball, playing the sport with enthusiasm and passion, which translated into a lifelong love of both basketball and football. He loved watching his favorite teams with his family and friends. 

Skipp's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
