Anthony "Tony" Chauvin

September 13, 1932 — October 19, 2022

Anthony “Tony” Chauvin, 90, a native of Chauvin, La. and resident of Houma, La., passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

A visitation will be held in his honor on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Magnolia Chapel from 9AM until the Liturgy of the Word at 11am. Burial will follow in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Anthony is survived by his children, Rebecca Bowen and husband, Sam, Clark Chauvin and wife, Kathy, and Marshall Chauvin and wife, Roslyn; brother, Phillip Chauvin; grandchildren, Troy Bowen, Brad Bowen, Chad Bowen, Ty Chauvin, Tate Chauvin, Tatum Rivette, Tyle Chauvin, Shannon Leboeuf, and Eli Chauvin; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Massie Robichaux Chauvin; his loving wife of 67 years, Melba Voisin Chauvin; sisters, Winnie Theriot, Gertie Lapeyrouse, Blanche Pellegrin, Cecile Theriot, and Marceline Chauvin; and brothers, Junius Chauvin, Wilbert Chauvin, and Andrew Chauvin; and one great-grandchild, Savannah Louise.

Anthony served and protected his country in the United States Army and Reserves honorably and proudly. After his service, Anthony enjoyed strumming on his banjo and guitar. He was often found on his HAM radio making friends around the world. He never met a stranger. Anthony tended to get lost in his old country favorites. He was an avid fan of Hank Williams and Blue Grass bands. He will be dearly and deeply missed by all those who had the honor to know and love him.
