Ann Redmond

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 12:00 pm at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg for Ann Mae Tregre Redmond, 97, who passed away peacefully, Monday, January 29, 2018 at 7:39 am, at Lafayette General Southwest in Lafayette. Visitation will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church from 9:30 am until service time. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery. Ann was born June 19, 1920 in Mount Airy, LA. She lived most of her life in Montegut, LA and resided in Lafayette for 5 years.

She is survived by her son, Steven B. Redmond and wife, Dianne Eschete; daughter, Marleen R. King and husband, Lee “Rod”; grandchildren, Jennifer R. Stringer and husband, Tim, Dr. Jeff Redmond and wife, Rochelle, Ann B. Salazar and husband, Jeremy, Kim B. Broussard and husband, Chad, and Robin B. Marie; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Bert Joseph Redmond; son, Rudy J. Redmond; parents, Felician and Marguerite Boudreaux Tregre; brother, Woodrow Tregre; sisters, Suzanne Porche, Lucy Tregre, Isabelle Buck, Gladys LeBoeuf, Sadie Lirette, Joyce Breaux and Ethel T. Daigle. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, Keno, cards, cooking and playing with her grandchildren. Also, she was the best praline maker. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Special thanks to the staff at Lafayette General Southwest, all the caregivers, especially Louise Guidry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Regional Military Museum in Houma.
