It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert "Gabby" Francis, beloved husband, father, and cherished member of the community. Born on May 20, 1938, in Dulac, Louisiana, Albert led a life rich in tradition, love, and laughter. On January 8, 2026, he departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of joy and resilience.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. till the Celebration of Life service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Dulac, LA. Albert was a proud tribal member of the United Houma Nation. As a tugboat captain, he spent years navigating the waters which he loved dearly. Beyond his occupation, Albert was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding peace and companionship in the great outdoors. His great sense of humor and joyful spirit brought warmth to all who knew him.

To cherish Albert's memories is his devoted wife, Florence Francis, his cherished children; Albert Joseph Francis (Lori), John Wayne Francis, Dale Anthony Francis, Theresa Francis Verret, Miriam Francis Meadows and Madeline Francis Stewart (Ray),18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Albert's family was his greatest treasure, and he cherished each moment spent together, creating lasting memories through shared laughter and love. His remarkable ability to connect with others will be profoundly missed.

Albert is reunited in Heaven with his parents John and Angelle Francis, his grandson, Tyler Lawrence Verret, his son in laws; Chad Wesley Meadows and Joseph Lawrence Verret and his siblings; Ernest Joseph Francis, Doris Francis Verret, Sonny Francis, Cecile Francis Boudreaux, Gertie Francis Verret, Willis Perry Francis and Eustice Francis.

As we remember Albert Wallace Francis, let us celebrate the love he shared and the legacy he leaves behind. May his spirit live on in every smile, every story, and every cherished moment.
