Everett Marmaduke Spurgin, 71, a native of Alabama and resident of Houma, LA died Thursday, December 16, 2010. Visitation will be from 9:00am to service time Monday, December 20, 2010 at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.. Liturgy of the Word will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 12:00pm Noon with Burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. He is survived by wife, Mary Jane LeCompte Spurgin of Houma LA; Sons: David Spurgin of Lafayette LA; Daughters: Lisa Vegas and husband Luigi of Houma LA and Cheryl Fondino and husband Michael of Prairieville LA; Sisters: Dessie Sims of Wildwood GA and Grace Marie Robbins and husband Charles of Hammond LA; Grandchildren: Dante' Vegas, Dominic Vegas, Isabella Fondino, Jake Spurgin, and Maya Spurgin. He was preceded in death by parents, Marmaduke Spurgin and Minnie Mae Spurgin; Brothers: Carl Spurgeon; and Sisters: Ruby Jewell Blackwell. He was a member of St. Bernadette Soubirous Catholic Church. He served in the United States Army.
