Laura Richard Chauvin, 87, a native of Houma, LA and a resident of Theriot, LA died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 7:05 AM. Visitation will be Friday, December 3, 2010 from 9:00am to service time at St. Eloi Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00am at St. Eloi Catholic Church with burial in St. Eloi Catholic Cemetery. She is survived by her son, Freddie Chauvin and wife Cheryl Domangue Chauvin of Theriot LA; daughter, Linda Chuavin Brunet and husband Henry Brunet of Houma LA; sisters, Wilma Richard Chauvin and Junius Chauvin of New Orleans LA and Geneviee Richard Chauvin of Houma LA; Grandchildren, Kevin Chauvin, Thad Chauvin, Renee' Pitts, Lynee' Ristine, Christian Chauvin, Cindy Wilkinson, Michelle Davidson and Mark Voisin; 17 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; Joseph Frederick Chauvin Sr.; parents,James Richard and Lena Brunet Richard; brothers,Edward Richard and Edgar Richard; sisters, Felicie Rodgers, Edna Steel, Florence Landry and Beula Richard. She was a teacher at Dularge Elementary School for 30 years. She was a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Eloi Catholic Church.
