Roy Elvin Alexander, 78, a native of Marshall, TX and resident of Houma, LA died Sunday, November 28, 2010.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, 6109 Hwy. 311, Houma, Louisiana, 70360.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with burial at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
He is survived by wife, Loretta Voisin Alexander;
son, Bruce Alexander and wife Sharon;
daughter, Charmaine Alexander and companion Danny Raffray, and Roxanne A. Gee and husband Frankie;
stepsons, John Haglund, Darryl Domangue and wife Gayle,and Kaylen Domangue and wife Amanda;
step daughters, Roslyn Billiot, Lisa Cunningham and husband Gary, and Carla Porche and husband Paul;
grandchildren, Jason Alexander, Sara Alexander, Chelsea Alexander Breaux, Terrell Matherne, III, Matthew Matherne, Joshua Malbrough, and Aarence Price, III;
great grandchildren, Trey Matherne, Cameron Matherne, Aarence Price, IV and Cole Malbrough;
many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren;
sisters, Ruby A. Kelly and Bessie Faye York; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Geoffrey Alexander;
parents, Lotis Mack Alexander and Nora Emeline Hopkins Alexander;
first wife, Claudette Golden Alexander Morgan;
second wife, Frances G. Haglund Alexander;
brothers, J. D. ALexander, Edward Worbington, Clyde Alexander, Therman Alexander, and Ray Alexander;
sisters, Lerine Alexander, Inez Nunez, Dorothy Clarke, Carrol Harrison.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Roy was a Korean War Veteran and served in the Navy Sea Bees. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3700 and the America Legion Post 31. He loved working overseas for McDermott. He enjoyed playing cards and golf.
