Jerome Judson Crowe Jr., 89, a native of West Blocton, Ala. and a resident of Houma, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Barrios Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Barrios Crowe; one son, Jerome Judson Crowe III “Jud”; and two grandsons, Judson Robert Crowe and Alexander Lane Crowe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome Judson Crowe Sr. and Anna Mae Tibbs Crowe.
Mr. Crowe entered the Navy in Birmingham, Ala. in 1939. He served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the NATO staff in Norfolk, Va. and was the Naval intelligence. He commanded two ships, the USS Bond and USS Astute. He retired from the reserves in 1962 as a Commander.
He was an avid golfer. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Jerry loved to sing with his lovely bride of 66 years, Katie. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Birmingham Southern University. He was a lifelong Alabama fan. Roll Tide!
