Samantha Scott Marcel, 44, a native of Terrebonne Parish, LA and a resident of Houma, LA died Friday, October 15, 2010. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with burial in Rogers Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Mel Joseph Marcel; son, Mel Joseph Marcel, Jr.; step daughters, Tony Lynn Blanchard and Mary Lynn Marcel; mother, Mary Barabara Billiot Scott; grandchildren, Matt, Caitlyn, Arienna and T.J.; brothers, Darrel Billiot, and Robin Brunet; sisters, Vickie Price and husband: Daren Price; godmother, Virginia Billiot; godsons, Brandon Price and Robin Brunet, Jr. Brothers in law: Eugene Joseph Marcel, Jr., Mike Marcel Sisters in law: Rose Thorton, Shelia Cunningham and husband Scott numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Norris Anthony Scott; grandchild, Jason Blanchard; brother, Charlie Brunet grandparents, Frack Scott, Jr. and Azelia Verret Scott; Selvina Billiot and Eugene Billiot; father and mother in law, Eugene Marcel and Lorine Trahan Marcel. She worked at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center in Medical Records for 13 years and had recently switched to coding. She completed a course at Delta College for Computer Operator and graduated with a 4.0 average. She was a member of the Krewe of Cleopatra for seven years. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, sister in law and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
