L.D. Merritt

L.D. Merritt, 86, a native of Kitts, KY and a resident of Gray, LA died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:10 PM. A graveside service will be held at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Clinton, TN. He is survived by his son, Carl Edward Merritt and wife Sarah of Houma, LA; daughter in law,Kathryn M. Merritt of Metairie, LA; 6 grandhcildren; 12 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandcdaughter. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Martin Merritt; son, L.D. Merritt, Jr. and one infant son; parents, Bill Merritt and Bertha May Douglas Merritt Walker; brother, Andrew Jackson Merritt. He was a World War II United States Navy veteran and served on the USS Carlson in the South Pacific.
