Rodney Paul Martin, 45, a native of Chauvin, LA and a resident of Dulac, LA died Sunday, July 11, 2010.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Chauvin Funeral Home and Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. with burial in
St. Elie Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Kelley; sons, Rodney “R.J.” Martin, Jr., Ethan Kelley-Martin, Evan Martin, Eli Martin; daughters, Tiffanie Martin and Britni Martin; grandchild, Ysabel Billiot; parents, Ruffin Martin and Mary Prosperie Martin;
brothers, Rudy Martin, Ruffin Martin, Jr. and sisters, Rhonda Clement, and Ramona Hemphill and
numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his
grandparents, Louis Steff Prosperie and Ida Marie Trahan, Lena Verret Maritn and Thomas Joseph Martin and son,Gavin Paul Martin.
He worked for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office for 18 years where he was currently a sergeant. He started in corrections and transferred to the transportation division from there he handled inmate work crews.
He also owned Cajun Striping and Painting, LLC and was a part time securtiy officer for Chabert Medical Center. He was past member of the Little Caillou and Bourg Fire Department and a member of Woodmen of the World.
He was a loving and devoted son, brother, father and grandfather.
