Gertrude Marie Walker, 98, a native of Grand Caillou, LA and a reisdent of Houma, LA died Sunday, July 4, 2010. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 6, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 8:30 AM until Service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Chauvin and husband Don and Gail Walker Robichaux; sons, Wayne Walker and Richard Walker and wife Brenda; sisters, Elsie Hebert and Lorraine Bunch; 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence J. Walker; parents, Leo Giroir and Evelia Luke Giroir; son in law, Robie Robichaux; sisters, Hazel Schlaefli, Hilda Leblanc, Ruth Hebert and Ezelle Vice; brothers, Xavier Giroir, Leroy Giroir and Roy Giroir. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
