Imogene Whisenhunt Chauvin, 91, of Abbeville and previously of Houma, LA died at 10:25 pm, Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Abbeville General Hospital.
Immogene was born in Levita, Texas, the eldest of four children born to Robert and Minnie Whisenhunt. She married Willie "Bill" Chauvin on November 1938. They resided in Houma, Louisiana.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Norman) Ledet of Abbeville, and Beverly Findley of Terre Haute, Indiana; her son, Charles Chauvin of Houma; nine grandchildrfen, Arleen (Jude) Bellard of Eunice, Myra (James) Aubin of Plaquemine, Sharon(Kevin)
Granger of Maurice, Eric (Linda) Chauvin of Bow, Washington, Todd Chauvin of Houma, Charmaine (Tracy)
Pitre of Houma, Erika Rhodes of Houma, Chad Moore of San Diego, California, and Scott (Laurie) Moore of Asbury, New Jersey. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, Brian and Patricxk Bellard; Riley, Katelan, and Garrett Granger, Michael, Megan, Joseph, and Gabrielle Aubin; Sinjon and Keaton Chauvin; NIcholas and Kaden Chauvin, Madelyn and Lillian Grace Pitre, Olivia Rhodes; and Laurestine Hollie and Trent Moore. Imogene's three sisters, Waldine Boswell, Robbie Morton, and Wilda Jackson, all of Texas, also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Minnie Whisenhunt; her husband Bill Chauvin and her son Thomas "Leroy" Chauvin.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and travel. She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church.
Vistiation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Chauvin Funeral Home and with services at Maria Immaculata Catholic Church and Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to mass time at 10:00 a.m., with burial at St. Francis No. 2.
